ABOUT THE SERVICE


REPUBLIC ACT No. 9048 authorizes the city or municipal civil registrar or the consul general to correct a typing error in an entry and/or change of first name or nickname in the civil register without need of a judicial order. An administrative remedy in nature, it is not a judicial process in changing an entry in civil registry documents. It is aimed at allowing petitioner a faster way of correcting errors found in their civil registry records.


FEES


In Korea:

    Filing Fee for CCE/CFN: US$ 25.00 or 33,550 Korean Won

In the Philippines:
    Filling Fee for CFN: P 3,000.00 (+ P1, 000.00 service fee for migrant petitioner)
    Filling Fee for CCE: P 1,000.00 (+ P500.00 service fee for migrant petitioner)


HOW TO AVAIL OF THE SERVICE BY MIGRANT PETITIONER


FOLLOW THESE STEPS IT WILL TAKE YOU PLEASE APPROACH
1. Presentation of Problem
Approach the consular assistant at the window and inform him/her about the problem in your record.

You will be advised of the remedy available in case of error in the Civil Registry Record.

3. List of Requirements
Consular asst. gives list of supporting documents required in filing the petition.
  1. Certified copy of Civil Registry Cert.
  2. At least 2 documents showing basis for correction
  3. Other relevant documents maybe required
In case of Petition filed in the Philippines: Submit Verified Petition from Civil Registrar Certification of Posting in the Philippines

4. Submission of Requirements
Submit all the required supporting documents for review.

5. Payment of Fees
Pay the required fee at the Cashier.

6. Preparation of Petition
Go back to the Consular Asst. to complete petition. Two original copies are completed and two certified copies

7. Consul General reviews and notarize the petition.
The CCR, then, administers the oath of the petitioner.

8. Posting at the Consulate Public Notice
Board or publication in case of change of name. The Publication will be posted for:
  • 2 weeks - for CFN
  • 10 days - for CCE

9. Consul General renders a decision within 5 working days after posting or publication 5 working days Sylvia Marasigan Consul General
10. Transmittal of Approved Petition to NSO through DFA Manila for affirmation.
After the NSO affirms, and the petition has become final, the Embassy issues Certification of Finality which is given to petitioner and certified copies forwarded to NSO through DFA.
Monthly Diplomatic pouch to DFA DFA transmits to NSO (estimated at 3 months)

In case of appeal, 1 month
