2020 DISKUBRE TOUR

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), in cooperation with the Department of Tourism (DOT) and Philippine local government units, invites Filipinos and young foreign-born Filipinos, 18-40 years old, to the 2020 Diskubre Tour, an immersion tour of Manila and the Bicol region on 3-13 January 2020.

Diskubre Tour is an immersion tour designed to promote a deeper appreciation of Filipino heritage, and a spirit of giving back to the motherland. The tour aims to open the participants' mindset; to have a first-hand experience of a Filipino growing up/living in the Philippines. In giving the young participants an opportunity to fully appreciate and understand their Filipino heritage, the program ultimately aspires to make cultural and goodwill ambassadors of the members of the Filipino diaspora.

Showcasing the natural wonders, historical and heritage sites, and city highlights will (re)introduce the beauty of the country to the participants. Exposure to host communities and helping out in their livelihood, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will hopefully create an awareness of the issues their kababayans are facing, that will lead to initiatives and programs with a positive impact on the host communities in the Philippines.

Only twenty (20) slots are available for the participants, who are responsible for their own airfare, hotel accommodations, meals, land arrangement, ground transportation, insurance and other incidental expenses outside of the tour program.

To know more about the tour and to reserve a slot, interested participants may visit https://www.travelwiseonline.com/lt-philippines-diskubre-tour.html. Deadline for registration is on 31 October 2019. END
