7TH KOREA EXCHANGE BANK (KEB) GLOBAL FAMILY AWARDS
Nominations to the 7th KEB Global Family Awards are now formally open to outstanding Filipina housewives of multicultural families in Korea, as well as individuals and organizations that meet the following pre-determined qualifications and requirements for the different award categories:
GRAND PRIZE: Housewife of a multicultural family who has set an example across two award types (Happy Family Award and Hopeful Family Award). Requirements: a. Filipina married to Korean man (includes those who have obtained Korean nationality) b. Married for three years or more and staying in Korea as of the recommendation date. c. Has not received any national award based on the same merits over the past three years. HAPPY FAMILY AWARD: Housewife of multicultural family who successfully settled into Korean society to realize her own dream progressively with good understanding, and supports, or who currently maintains, a happy, healthy and harmonious family life after overcoming cultural differences and other hardships. Requirements: a. Filipina married to Korean man (includes those who have obtained Korean nationality) b. Married for three years or more and staying in Korea as of the recommendation date. c. Has not received any national award based on the same merits over the past three years. HOPEFUL FAMILY AWARD: Housewife of a multicultural family who has committed to participate in volunteer work in order to help neighbors in need and improve the welfare of other multicultural families, or who has succeeded in overcoming environmental limitations through her strong will despite having limited financial means. Requirements: a. Filipina married to Korean man (includes those who have obtained Korean nationality) b. Married for three years or more and staying in Korea as of the recommendation date. c. Has not received any national award based on the same merits over the past three years. HAPPY HELPER AWARD: Group or individual that/who has been committed to providing continuous support for advancing the welfare of multicultural families in Korea. Requirements for Group: a. Institutions or groups that have made significant contributions to the community for three or more years as of the recommendation date. b. Has not received any national award based on the same merits over the past three years. Requirements for Individuals: a. An individuals who, as of the recommendation date, has shown merits in helping multicultural families settle into Korean society by caring for, educating, and mentoring them. b. Has not received any national award based on the same merits over the past three years. Prizes: Grand Prize: KRW 10 Million Happy Family Award: KRW 8 Million (Winner); KRW 3 Million (Runners-up) Hopeful Family Award: KRW 8 Million (Winner); KRW 3 Million (Runners-up) Happy Helper Award: KRW 5 Million (Winner); KRW 3 Million (Runners-up) In addition to the cash prize, the Grand Prize awardee and two winners will be given the opportunity to visit their home country for one week with their immediate family members (up to 4 persons, including awardee) or invite family members from their home country (up to 2 persons) to Korea for one week. The expenses incurred shall be supported on an actual executed expenses basis by the Foundation in the amount not exceeding KRW 3 Million. Nomination Procedure: Nominations to the 7th KEB Global Family Awards must be submitted to the Philippine Embassy on or before Wednesday, 06 May 2015. A Screening Committee, composed of distinguished individuals representing the different sectors of the community, will review and vet all nominations. A shortlist of three nominees will be submitted by the Committee to the Philippine Embassy. Final nominations to the 7th KEB Global Family Awards will be submitted by the Philippine Embassy to the KEB Foundation on or before 15 May 2015. The KEB Foundation launched the KEB Global Family Awards Program in 2009 to support the successful settlement of multicultural families, draw increasing public attention to them, and help achieve an open, pluralist society where all citizens live together in harmony. Since the program was launched, KEB Foundation has named and awarded a total of 104 individuals and groups.
