ADVISORY ON PROCEDURES FOR ARRIVING OFWS IN THE PHILIPPINES DURING THE ECQ PERIOD

Further to the Embassy Advisory on the Mandatory 14-day Facility Quarantine for all OFWs upon arrival in the Philippines, the Embassy wishes to share with the Filipino community in South Korea the following information for arriving OFWs during the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) period:
1. The Department of Transportation's (DOTr's?s) Step-by-step Procedure for Arriving OFWs at the One-Stop-Shop provides that upon arrival, the OFW:
a. will go through thermal screening,
b. will fill-up a Health Declaration Form,
c. will receive Department of Tourism (DOT) Care Kits and DOTr-MIAA Malasakit Help Kits, and
d. shall be brought to a holding area for a mandatory quarantine briefing, interview, registration and rapid anti-body testing.
OFWs found with COVID-19 symptoms will be brought by the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) to a health quarantine facility.
On the other hand, OFWs without COVID-19 symptoms will be brought to a separate lodging/ hotel for the 14-day mandatory facility-based quarantine. They will proceed with the regular immigration procedures and baggage check-out, and thereafter will be led to the transportation service which will bring them to their designated lodging area/ hotel.
2. The OWWA's Information on Mandatory Quarantine for OFWs provides that OWWA and DOTr/ Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will transport the OFWs to the designated lodging/ hotel for the14-day mandatory quarantine.
OWWA will be providing OFWs with daily food packs, and monitoring the condition of those under quarantine.
OFWs who complete their 14-day quarantine shall be given a Certificate of Completion of Quarantine Period by the BOQ.
OWWA/ DOTr/ PCG will provide assistance to OFWs for their travel to their respective provinces/ destinations. OWWA continues to coordinate with the LGUs regarding entry of OFWs with completed quarantine procedure.
