ADVISORY ON THE 2023 BAGONG BAYANI AWARDS


The Philippine Embassy informs the public that the Bagong Bayani Foundation, Inc. (BBFI), in coordination with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has officially announced that the nominations for 2023 Bagong Bayani Awards are now open.

The deadline for submission of nominations is on April 30, 2023. Nomination forms may also be requested through their email at bagong_bayani_awards@yahoo.com or bagong.bayani.inc@gmail.com or can also be downloaded through their website at www.bbfi.com.ph.


There are five (5) award categories that allow the recognition of specific contributions of OFWs corresponding to the different areas of their involvements:
1. Bagong Bayani Award for Outstanding Employee
2. Bagong Bayani Award for Community and Social Service
3. Bagong Bayani Award for Culture and the Arts
4. Capt. Gregorio S. Oca Achievement Award
5. Blas F. Ople Award para sa Natatanging Bagong Bayani

Any active Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW), whether land-based or sea-based and possessing the following qualifications, may be nominated for pre-qualification:
- Has no past or present criminal or derogatory record;
- Must be of good moral standing, or has received recognition from past or present employer for exemplary behavior or outstanding service; and
- The employment contract must have been processed by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) / Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and must not have left the country irregularly or as a tourist.

The awarding is scheduled on August 23, 2023 in Malacanan Palace with the President as Guest of Honor. (END)

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
