ADVISORY: PREVENTION OF INFECTION WITH NOVEL CORONAVIRUS


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to share with the Filipino community in Korea the announcement from the Korea Center of Disease Prevention and Control (KCDC) on the Prevention of infection with novel coronavirus, especially during the Lunar New Year.

The KCDC alerts the public at https://www.cdc.go.kr/board/board.es?mid=a30402000000&bid=0030# to keep on the prevention of infection with novel coronavirus (2019-cNoV) as the number of visitors from China is increased and moving around the country during the Lunar New Year.

To prevent infection, the KCDC advises the public to:

1. Keep out of any contacts with poultry or wild animals
2. Keep out of any contact with people who are unwell or showing respiratory symptoms such as fever and coughs
3. Fill out the Health Questionnaire upon arrival , and report to quarantine immediately if you develop fever and respiratory symptoms (cough, difficulty in breathing)
4. If you develop a fever and respiratory symptoms within 14 days of your returning to Korea, please call KCDC Call Center at 1339

KCDC also reminds the public of washing their hands frequently, practicing cough etiquette, wearing a mask when visiting health facilities for respiratory symptoms, and providing travel history.
