APPLICATION FOR THE SEOUL NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SNU) PRESIDENT FELLOWSHIP 2018 FALL SEMESTER


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to inform the Filipino public that the Seoul National University (SNU) is now accepting applications for scholarships under the SNU President Fellowship (SPF) Program for the 2018 Fall Semester.

Recognizing its global social responsibility, SNU offers the SPF Program to provide opportunities to faculty members of major universities in developing countries in Asia to pursue Ph.D. degrees at SNU. Applicants can apply to pursue Ph.D. studies in any research areas, however, priority will be given to applicants in the fields of engineering, medicine, public health, agriculture, developmental studies and Korean studies.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be BOTH:

- A faculty member, without Ph.D., of a major university from a developing country in
Asia; and
- Currently admitted and/ or enrolled in SNU as a Ph.D. student for the given semester.

- Full tuition
- Round-trip airfare
- KRW 24,000,000.00 annual stipend (paid over 12 months)
- Korean language training
- Group Medical Insurance

Required Documents:

- SPF Fall 2018 Application Form (including study plan)
- Certificate of Employment (as a faculty member)
- Certificate of Graduation (Bachelor's and Master's degrees)
- Official Transcript (both Bachelor's and Master's degrees)
- Recommendation Letter from the Dean of Affiliated College at SNU or
Recommendation Letter from the Dean or President of current university.

Online applications would run from 19 February 2018 to 22 March 2018 while the submission of required documents would be from 19 February 2018 to 23 March 2018. All application and necessary documents must be submitted by the college or university on behalf of the applicant to SNU's Office of International Affairs.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul joins the celebration on the Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week, or “Girl Child Week” from 22-28 March 2026. In accordance with Proclamation No. 759, March 6, 1996, the fourth week of March is celebrated as “Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week”.  The observance also complements the annual National Women’s Month Celebration every March.
