APPLICATION FOR WOOJUNG EDUCATION AND CULTURE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR FIRST SEMESTER, 2023 ACADEMIC YEAR


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to inform the Filipino Community in Korea that the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation is offering financial assistance to two (2) Filipino students currently studying in South Korea for the First Semester of the 2023 Academic Year.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:



1. A foreign student studying in Korea seeking financial support for tuition fees and living costs. The student must be currently studying in a regular course including master and doctoral courses. Students enrolled in language classes do not qualify.

2. Confirm that the applicant does not exceed the term of the scholarship (The reference start date is the date you begin school)

- Undergraduate students in 4-year university: First 8 semesters (First 4 years)
- Master's degree students: First 4 semesters (First 2 years)
- PhD degree students: First 6 semesters (First 3 years)
- Joint Master's and PhD degree students: First 8 semesters (First 4 years)

Note: The foundation is unable to offer scholarships beyond the noted terms.

3. A student who has acquired over 80 points score (equivalent to a grade of B score) of academic records as a full-time student in a 4-year Korean university. However, if the student is experiencing financial difficulties, this shall also be considered.

4. A student with good manners.

5. A student with no government scholarship or other scholarship.

Qualified applicants must submit, personally or via postal mail, to the Embassy the following documentary requirements on or before Thursday, 26 January 2023:

1. Application Form (Complete both in English and Korean)
- Address in Korea should be written in Korean, because the foundation might send the certificate via post mail later on.
2. Recommendation Letter by Dean or Professor (Complete either in English of Korean)
3. Certificate of Admission
4. Certificate of Enrollment (Original copy)
5. Transcript (original copy)
- If you have finished your coursework, and are working on your thesis, please submit the previous transcript and submit the confirmation form for faculty advisor on a student's thesis schedule.
6. Self-Introduction (Limitation: 1 page only) (Complete both in English and Korean)
7. Study Plan for 1st Semester of 2023 (Limitation: 1 page only) (Complete both in Englsih and Korean)
8. Copy of Bank Account with Account Number
9. A Cover Letter addressed to the Head of Mission

The Woojung Education and Culture Foundation was established by Booyoung Group, one of the key construction companies in South Korea, with the aim to lend financial support to deserving foreign students currently studying in Korea.
