COLD WEATHER AND SNOW ADVISORY

Seoul, 7 February 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul advises all Filipino nationals in South Korea to take necessary precautions as the country experiences severe cold weather and snowfall in the coming days. According to local weather reports, temperatures are expected to drop significantly, with heavy snowfall and strong winds affecting several regions, including Seoul and surrounding provinces.

Precautionary Measures:

  • Dress Warmly: Wear layered clothing, gloves, hats, and scarves to protect against extreme cold.
  • Limit Outdoor Exposure: Minimize time spent outside, especially for children, the elderly, and individuals with health conditions.
  • Ensure Home Safety: Keep heating systems in good condition and use heating devices safely to prevent fire hazards.
  • Exercise Caution When Traveling: Roads and sidewalks may be slippery; avoid unnecessary travel and check weather updates before commuting.
  • Prepare for Emergencies: Keep flashlights, batteries, food, and water in case of power interruptions.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
