EMBASSY ADVISORY ON PASSPORT AND TRAVEL DOCUMENT

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul wishes to remind passport applicants (new applications and renewal of ePassports) that due to logistical limitations in light of measures against COVID-19, there may be some delays in the production of Philippine passports and their delivery to South Korea. Applicants are respectfully requested to anticipate the release of new passports in 6 to 8 weeks from the time of application.

Applicants who need to renew their Korean visa may request from the Embassy a Certificate stating that their passport renewal is underway. This Certificate may be submitted to the Korea Immigration Services (KIS) pending the receipt of the new passport. Kindly inform the Embassy's Consular Staff of your request for a Certificate during your application. You may also send an email to consular@philembassy-seoul.com to request the issuance of a Certificate.

Philippine passport holders who have immediate or emergency travel but whose passports are not yet expired may apply for an extension of the validity of passport at the Embassy. Please note that the validity of passports that have already expired cannot be extended.

Applicants whose passports are expired but who need to travel to the Philippines immediately may apply for a Travel Document at the Embassy. A Travel Document allows for one-way travel to the Philippines and is valid for 30 days from issuance.

Please note that in view of the increasing number of new COVID-19 cases in South Korea, and in line with the Korean government's efforts to curb infections in the country, the Embassy accepts clients strictly by appointment only.

? Passport applicants can schedule their appointment at http://www.philembassy-seoul.com/guidelines.aspx.

? Travel Document applicants can set their appointment at https://philippineembassyinseoul.setmore.com/bookappointment.
