EMBASSY'S ASSISTANCE TO OVERSEAS FILIPINOS AFFECTED BY THE TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF FLIGHT OPERATIONS AT THE NINOY AQUINO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Seoul wishes to inform the public that the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19 has made the decision to temporarily restrict flight operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila and all other international airports in the country.

The decision of the NTF is meant to decongest the quarantine facilities in the country to protect our people by preventing the further spread of COVID-19 and also ensure that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are well taken care of when they arrive from overseas. This measure is temporary and will be implemented for one week starting 03 May 2020.

The Embassy understands that this measure has affected several Filipino passengers worldwide, including here in South Korea.

Our Embassy Officials have met with some Filipino passengers currently stranded at Incheon International Airport to check on their condition and extend necessary assistance. The Embassy is also ready to convey to the Department of Foreign Affairs their grievances and other requests for assistance, if any.

On other Filipinos here in South Korea whose flight to Manila has been affected by the temporary closure of NAIA, the Embassy also stands ready to extend appropriate assistance as needed. The Embassy may be reached at our Assistance-to-Nationals hotline +8210 9263 8119, POLO hotline +8210 6591 6290 and Welfare Hotline +8210 7358 5841.END
