Exemption from Re-entry Permit for Foreigners


The Philippine Embassy was informed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea on the notice by Korea Immigration Service, Ministry of Justice regarding exemption from re-entry permit for foreigners upon arrival and departure from the Republic of Korea.

According to the Korea Immigration Service, the re-entry permit system has been revised to provide convenience for foreign residents in Korea. Filipino residents of Korea with valid passports and alien registration cards, are free to enter and depart from Korea without a re-entry permit for one year within their permitted period of stay on visa. If the period of stay is less than one year, the exemption is valid for the duration of the period of stay. In the case of permanent residents (F-5), their exemption will remain valid for two years after their departure date. The exemption on re-entry permit takes effect on Wednesday, 01 December 2010.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
