FINE EXEMPTION AND SUSPENSION OF ENTRY RESTRICTIONS BY THE KOREA IMMIGRATION SERVICE


The Korea Immigration Service will be granting fine exemption and suspension of entry restrictions for illegal residents in Korea under the following conditions:

1. Illegal residents who are vaccinated with a third dose/booster shot in Korea by April 30, 2022 and voluntarily leave Korea by October 31, 2022; and

2. Illegal residents who are fully vaccinated in Korea by February 28, 2022 and voluntarily leave Korea by April 30, 2022.

The above-qualified individuals can receive an exemption from fine and suspension of entry restrictions if they apply for a Preliminary Declaration of Voluntary Departure by visiting an immigration office in person or filing an online application, and leave Korea on the same day via ports or airports. A proof of vaccination (COOV e-certification or a printed version) needs to be submitted.

Applications must be submitted at least three (3) days before the date of the departure (holidays are not counted).
