JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: ATN TRANSLATOR/INTERPRETER WITH RELATED COMMUNICATIONS AND TASKS


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul is now accepting applications for the position of Translator/Interpreter and performing other related communications and tasks, who will be assigned to the Assistance to Nationals (ATN) Section of the Embassy

The detailed job description and responsibilities and minimum qualifications and skills for the position are enumerated as follows:



JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translate all incoming and outgoing communications for the ATN Section, such as letters and emails to/from hospitals, lawyers, courts, detention centers, police offices, immigration offices and other related public and private offices or institutions
- Coordinate and liaise with the Korean government authorities on cases or issues affecting the welfare of Filipino nationals
- Translate/interpret communications and teleconferences with lawyers, prosecutors and other Korean justice sector officers
- Coordinate and liaise with government agencies, migrant shelters, counselling offices and other organizations on cases or issues affecting the welfare of Filipino spouses of Korean nationals
- Assist in responding to stranded transiting Filipino passengers and distressed Filipino nationals at the airport and in facilitating repatriations and medical repatriations
- Assist in the conduct of prison and hospital visits
- Liaise with hospitals, mortuaries and funeral service providers regarding cases of deceased Filipino nationals
- Do other translation, interpretation and related work, that may be assigned from time to time, in the exigencies of the service.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Filipino or Korean citizen
- College graduate
- Proficient in translating verbal and written communications from English to Korean, and vice versa
- Has a valid driver's license, good driving skills and record and familiarity with Korea's traffic and highway systems
- Has excellent people-to-people skills and empathy for ATN clients
- Can work efficiently and professionally in a team and, if needed, during weekends

3. Transcript of Records from last College/University attended
4. A one-page statement of suitability setting out why you are the suitable person for the position. Your statement should include clear examples of how you meet the key competences required by the job.

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
