JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - CONSULAR CLERK, TRANSLATOR AND INTERPRETER


The Philippine Embassy in Seoul is now accepting applications for the position of Consular Clerk, Translator, and Interpreter. The detailed job description, required qualifications and skills for the position are enumerated as follows:

TITLE: Consular Clerk / Translator, Interpreter



JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Processing of applications for visa and other consular services
- Dealing with written and telephone inquiries related to the consular services of the Embassy
- Preparing and filing of consular reports
- Carrying out any other reasonable ad hoc duties to support the consular function of the Embassy
- Providing logistical and clerical support, whenever necessary
- Undertaking other duties which may be assigned from time to time

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Open to Filipino and Korean citizens who are of good moral character
- Must have a bachelor's degree
- Must have excellent oral and written English
- Must have proficient computer skills
- Must be adept in translation from Korean into English and vice versa
- If Filipino, must have Topik Level 5 certification and a valid Korean working visa.
- Must be willing to work overtime

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to respond to a range of customer needs
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- A team player who is adaptable to changing priorities and high-pressure situations
- Strong organizational skills. Ability to organize time, work independently, coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure that deadlines are met and applications are processed in a timely manner

- Transcript of Records from last College/University attended
- Recommendation letter from former employer
- A one-page statement of suitability setting out why you are the suitable person for the position
- Police Clearance

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:

THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SEOUL PARTICIPATES IN THE OBSERVANCE OF THE 30TH GIRL CHILD WEEK, 22 -28 MARCH 2026

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul joins the celebration on the Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week, or “Girl Child Week” from 22-28 March 2026. In accordance with Proclamation No. 759, March 6, 1996, the fourth week of March is celebrated as “Protection and Gender-Fair Treatment of the Girl Child Week”.  The observance also complements the annual National Women’s Month Celebration every March.
