MINISTRY OF JUSTICE LAUNCHES VOLUNTARY DEPARTURE PROGRAM (VDP)

The Philippine Embassy wishes to inform the Filipino Community that South Korea's Ministry of Justice (MOJ) recently launched a program to enable foreigners illegally staying in the country to depart voluntarily without being banned from entering Korea in the future.

This program started on 01 October 2018 and will run for six months until 31 March 2019.

At the same time, the MOJ is intensifying its efforts on reducing the number of foreigners illegally staying and working in Korea. Those who are caught during the program period will be deported immediately and will be banned entry to South Korea for a maximum period of 10 years.

Those who wish to avail of the program may report to the Immigration Office at the 3rd floor of Incheon Airport, bearing the following documents on the day of departure: (1) valid flight ticket to the Philippines and (2) passport or travel document. Please arrive at least 5 hours before departure to allow ample time for processing.

The Philippine Embassy shall provide information on available reintegration support services to those who would need employment, training, livelihood, or business development assistance upon their return to the Philippines, including referral to the National Reintegration Center and other relevant offices. Please contact the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) at (02) 3785-3634 to 35 for assistance.

For further inquiries on the voluntary departure program, please call the Immigration Contact Center at telephone number 1345.
