NEW VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURE AT THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY


Pursuant to Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) Resolution No. 165 dated 24 March 2022, the Philippine Embassy has resumed all pre-pandemic visa processes, including existing Visa Waiver Agreements which enable nationals of certain countries to travel to the Philippines visa-free for business or tourism purposes for a stay not exceeding thirty (30) days.

For nationals of countries not under any existing Visa Waiver Agreements, beginning 1 September 2022, the Philippine Embassy in Seoul will be following a new procedure for accepting visa applications under the following visa categories:



Visa category:
9(a) - Temporary Visitors

9(a)(1) - Business Visitors
9(a)(2) - Tourism or Leisure Visitors
9(a)(3) - Medical Treatment Visitors
9(a)(4) - Yachtsmen/Sailors
9(a)(5) - Filmmaking Visitors
9(a)(6) - Journalism Visitors
9(a)(7) - Athletic and Performing Arts Visitors
9(a)(8) - Other Purposes

Procedure:
1. For 9(a) visa applicants, lodge your applications through https://www.visa.gov.ph.

2. Upload supporting documents and answer the interview questionnaire at https://sites.google.com/dfa.gov.ph/seoulpe-visadocs/. Please use a Googlemail/Gmail account.

Visa category:
9(b) - Foreigners in Transit
9(f) - Students of Long-Term Regular Academic Programs
9(g) - Pre-Arranged Employment
47(a)(2) - Special Non-Immigrant
13(a) - Spouses' Visa

Procedure:
Upload supporting documents and answer the interview questionnaire at https://sites.google.com/dfa.gov.ph/seoulpe-visadocs/. Please use a Googlemail/Gmail account.

After filling out the required forms and documents, the applicant will:

1. Receive an interview schedule by electronic mail (email). Interviews will be scheduled within two (2) working days from the date documents are submitted online.

2. The applicant must attend the scheduled interview at the Philippine Embassy, bring all original documents, and pay the visa application fee.

3. The applicant will receive a notice of their visa application results within five (5) to ten (10) working days or earlier from the date of interview, in view of the visa system under the Department of Foreign Affairs. The passports and visa results may be released by mail courier or pick-up at the Philippine Embassy.

All application procedures, including the submission of requirements for processing shall be done online, except for the scheduled visa interview.

However, the application process for 9(c) (seafarer/crewlist) and 9(e) (diplomatic/official business) visas remain the same, and the applicants or their representatives may personally submit their applications at the Philippine Embassy from 09:30 A.M. to 12:00 N.N.; P.M., Sundays to Thursdays.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
