PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SOUTH KOREA CONDUCTS FIRST CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSION OF THE YEAR IN GWANGJU

GWANGJU, 23-24 February 2018 - The Philippine Embassy in South Korea conducted a two-day Consular Outreach Mission on 23-24 February 2018 at the Gwangju Apostolic Migrant Center in Gwangju, South Jeolla Province.

Third Secretary and Vice Consul Lyza Maria S. Viejo led the six-member consular outreach team in bringing various services to the Filipino Community in Gwangju including passport application and renewal, civil registration, NBI clearance application, notarial services, and citizenship reacquisition, among others. Vice Consul Viejo also provided information and assistance to Filipinos in distress in Gwangju. The consular team processed a total of 232 consular services during the two-day period, serving more than 180 Filipinos.

PAG-IBIG Member Services officer Mr. Dominic Leoligao also accompanied the consular outreach mission team and provided information on PAG-IBIG programs and services to the Filipino Community.

The consular outreach mission was held in coordination with the Gwangju Filipino Catholic Community, led by its president, Mr. Rexie Ponce and its vice president, Ms. Sherryl Sambo.

Gwangju is Korea'd sixth largest city and is home to 1,085 Filipinos as of 31 December 2017.

LAUNCH OF FULLY DIGITAL APOSTILLE FOR PSA E-CERTIFICATES AND CHED E-CAVS

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul informs the public of the Official Launch of the Fully Digital Apostille (eApostille) for Philippine Statistics Authority electronic Certificates (PSA eCertificates) and Commission on Higher Education electronic Certification, Authentication, and Verification (CHED eCAVs) at the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila, Philippines, on 16 March 2026. This initiative is part of the Philippines’ continuing implementation of the electronic Apostille Program (e-APP) of the HCCH aimed at facilitating the secure electronic issuance and verification of Apostilles and promoting the efficient cross-border use of public documents among Contracting Parties to the Apostille Convention.  The following arrangements for the issuance of Apostilles for PSA eCertificates, covering civil registry documents, and CHED eCAVs, covering academic documents, were implemented starting 16 March 2026:
