COMMEMORATIVE GIFT ON THE OCCASION OF THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF PHILIPPINES-KOREA DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Seoul, 12 November 2019. To mark the celebrations of the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Korea Diplomatic Relations and the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations, Ambassador Noe A. Wong, with the support of Parola Maritime Agency Corporation, Magellan Marine Solutions and Namsung Shipping Co. Ltd., presented a life-size replica of the Philippine jeepney to the ASEAN Culture House (ACH) in Busan on 7 November 2019.

The jeepney was received by ACH Director-General Seoung-Hoon Ham and Director Bangbok Lee.
Ambassador Noe A. Wong believes that the Philippine jeepney, regarded as "King of the Road," will give Koreans a glimpse of life in the Philippines and how it feels to ride the Philippines' most popular public transportation as well as create a connection between Koreans and Filipinos.
The ACH welcomed the donation of a Philippine cultural icon as part of the cultural center's Philippine permanent collection, as the look and feel of the jeepney and its unique features will be greatly enjoyed by ACH visitors.
The Philippine jeepney is currently exhibited at the front deck of the ACH in Busan.
Ambassador & Mme. Noe Wong also donated Barong Tagalog, Baro't Saya, tea set and books to the ACH. END

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY PARTICIPATES IN “GALING PILIPINAS” CONFERENCE AT MAD STARS 2026 IN BUSAN

28 August 2026, Busan, ROK - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul and the Philippine Consulate General in Busan participated in the “Galing Pilipinas” segment of the MAD STARS 2026 held at the Signiel Busan Hotel on 28 August 2026.  The segment represented the inaugural Country in Focus portion, showcasing the Philippines, the first-ever country honored as such in MAD STARS’s 19-year history.  The conference presented the Philippines’ creativity, innovation, talent and cultural identity to an international audience.  It was organized by adobo Magazine, a leading trade publication and media platform in the Philippines that covers the advertising, marketing, design, and creative industries across the Asia-Pacific region. In attendance were MAD STARS Executive Committee Chairperson Hwanjin Choi and Chairperson Taeyoul Park.

FILIPINO SCHOLAR’S MASTER’S THESIS JOINS SENTRO RIZAL LIBRARY COLLECTION

Seoul, 3 September 2026 - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul congratulates Ana Mae Roa on completing her Master of International Studies at Korea University’s Graduate School of International Studies. A copy of her thesis, Korean Language Centers as Intermediaries in Mobility from the Philippines to South Korea, completed in August 2026, has been deposited at the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal Library.
