EMBASSY OF THE PHILIPPINES ORGANIZES TRAINING MODULES FOR PERSONNEL

07 May 2026, Seoul. The Philippine Embassy in Seoul continues to support organizational development and institution building by providing trainings to equip its personnel with updated knowledge on laws in the Philippines as well as trainings on health and wellness.

On 15 April 2026, Dean Jacqueline O. Lopez-Kaw of the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School of Law delivered a lecture on Philippine anti-sexual harassment laws and its application in the workplace. 

Dean Lopez-Kaw highlighted key legislations, including the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, the Safe Spaces Act, and provided examples of court decisions on cases filed in the Philippines.

On 22 April 2026, Father Jason Antiquera, SMCC, facilitated a prayerful and reflective art workshop designed specifically for Embassy personnel to create a quiet and personal space for inner healing as a form of relaxation and stress relief.  The afternoon session also provided an opportunity for thanksgiving and self-reflection and improvements of actions towards the self, workmates and the community being served here in the Republic of Korea. -END

8 July 2026, Seoul — The Philippine Embassy in Seoul convened a high-level policy roundtable with the Plaza Project on 8 July 2026 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award. The event featured Philippine Undersecretary for Policy Leo M. Herrera-Lim and members of the Plaza Project, a network of approximately 250 senior Korean policy advisers, former government officials, legal practitioners, industry experts, and opinion leaders across seven centers who continue to inform policy discussions within the Republic of Korea.

Yongin, 20 July 2026 - The Philippine Embassy, represented by Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Mr. Edwin Gil Mendoza delivered a lecture to second year students at Sanggal Middle School in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. The lecture was attended by approximately 100 middle school students, faculty members and representatives from the Yongin Office of Education, Yongin Youth Future Education and HelloWorldKorea.

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY WELCOMES LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS TO SEOUL

Seoul, 16 July 2026. The Philippine Embassy in Seoul led by Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez received the courtesy visit of a 60-member delegation composed of LGU officials including chief executives, local legislators and department heads from Quezon City, Legazpi City, Masbate, Occidental Mindoro, Siquijor, Tarlac, Surigao Del Norte and Zamboanga Del Norte at the Sentro Rizal Hall of the Philippine Embassy. Ambassador was joined by Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Edwin Gil Q. Mendoza, PTIC-Seoul Commercial Counsellor Ms. Charmaine Mignon Yalong and MWO-Korea Labor Attaché Atty. Rosemarie Duquez.
