Filipino Artist Wins ASEAN-Korea Multimedia Competition


Mr. Nassier Nash Anggahan, a graduate student of Polytechnic University of the Philippines, was awarded the Gold Prize for Digital Media Arts at the ASEAN-Korea Multimedia Competition and Exhibition held at the Gallery Jinsun, Seoul, on 17 December 2010.

The Multimedia Competition was organized by the ASEAN-Korea Centre to showcase the new urban paradigm under the theme of “ASEAN-Korean Cities: Urban Culture and Green Life” through art. The competition is a venue for freely displaying artistic imagination about the relationship between the city and the environment. Mr. Anggahan’s entry entitled “Water,” a 2 minute- 40 second single channel video features efforts being undertaken by various groups for the rehabilitation of the Pasig River. The 2010 ASEAN-Korea Multimedia Competition provides a channel of exchanges and enhances mutual understanding between young generation of ASEAN and Korea through new media. Winning Photographs and Digital Arts are on display at the Gallery Jinsun, Seoul, until 30 December 2010.

PHILIPPINE MADRIGAL SINGERS SHOWCASE ARTISTRY IN KOREA PERFORMANCES

07 March 2025 – The world-renowned and multi-awarded Philippine Madrigal Singers showcased their artistry before Korean and international audiences in several performances in Korea from 22-28 February 2025. The group, also known popularly as the MADZ, astounded audiences with their vocal mastery and intricate choral arrangements in various performances in Suwon, Ansan, Pohang, and as a special featured choir at the popular Jeju International Choral Festival.   The MADZ with their diverse repertoire of Filipino, international, spiritual, classical, popular, and ethnic music brought audiences to their feet as their performances received standing ovations from audiences.
