Seoul, 09 June 2026 – The Philippines participated in the 2026 Seoul Food held from 09 to 12 June 2026 at KINTEX, Goyang, Republic of Korea, strengthening the country’s presence in one of Asia’s leading global food industry exhibitions.
Now on its 44th edition, Seoul Food brought together 49 countries and 1,800 companies, providing a major platform for exporters, buyers, distributors, and industry stakeholders to pursue business partnerships, expand market access, and identify new opportunities in the global food trade.
The Philippines was represented through the FOODPhilippines Pavilion, led by the Department of Trade and Industry-Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (DTI-CITEM), in partnership with the DTI-Bohol Provincial Office, DTI-MIMAROPA Regional Office, Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Seoul (PTIC-Seoul), Department of Agriculture-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (DA-AMAS), and the Philippine Agriculture Office in Seoul (PAO-Seoul).
The Pavilion featured coconut-based products, tropical fruits, seafood, snacks, specialty ingredients, and ube-based products from 23 Philippine companies participating onsite and offsite. The country’s participation supported ongoing efforts to expand Philippine food exports to the Republic of Korea and create stronger business linkages for Philippine producers and exporters.
Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez attended the opening ceremony together with Philippine Department of Agriculture Undersecretary Philip Young, officials from the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) and Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA), heads of delegation of participating countries, and representatives of diplomatic missions in Seoul.
Ambassador Fernandez also joined Philippine trade and agriculture officials at the official opening of the FOODPhilippines Pavilion, where the delegation underscored the importance of maximizing market access initiatives and creating meaningful business opportunities for Philippine exporters, particularly for high-value agricultural products such as bananas, pineapples, and ube.
Ahead of the exhibition, Ambassador Fernandez and Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Edwin Gil Q. Mendoza welcomed the Philippine delegation at the Sentro Rizal Hall of the Philippine Embassy in Seoul on 08 June 2026, reaffirming the Embassy’s support for Philippine exporters pursuing greater access to the Korean market.
