MOU Signing on Cooperation in the Field of Multicultural Children’s Education


Ambassador Luis T. Cruz witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding among the Republic of Korea, The Philippines, and Viet Nam on Cooperation in the Field of Multicultural Children’s Education, held at the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Capitol in Daegu, on 14 August 2012.

Signatories of the said MOU were Dr. Ester Ogena, President of the Philippine Normal University, Dr. Ha Thah Toan, Rector of Vietnam’s Can Tho University, Dr. Nam Seung In, President of the Daegu National University of Education, and Governor Kim Kwang Yong of Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Under the MOU Gyeongsangbukdo Provincial Government will send children of Filipino-Korean spouses to the Philippines for a cultural and language immersion program to be organized by the Philippine Normal University. The project is aimed at exposing these children to the culture of their Filipino mothers.
