NOTICE OF TRANSFER OF OFFICE PHILIPPINE OVERSEAS LABOR OFFICE (POLO) KOREA


Please be informed that starting 17 September 2017 (Sunday), the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) is moving its location to a more spacious office. The new location is at 2nd Floor, 5-19 Itaewon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul (right across the back gate of the Philippine Embassy, Seoul).

Further, please be advised that POLO's contact numbers and email address have not changed. It is still +82 2 3785-3634 to 35 and labor@philembassy-seoul.com, respectively.

In line with this, expect minimal delays in responding to your inquiry and/or request on the above-mentioned date. For urgent concerns, you may reach POLO thru the given numbers below:

How to get there:
By public transportation:

1. By Bus: Take bus # 405 or # 402 and get off at the Hyatt Hotel. Then from the Hyatt, walk about 150 meters towards the direction of Kyeongridan. Please take note that the main entrance is in an inside road so, walking from Hyatt Hotel, turn left at the first corner from Kyeongridan.

2. By Subway: Get off at Noksapyeong Sta. (Line 6); take exit #1, cross the street and take Minibus #03 (Green Bus) bound for Hyatt Hotel. Or get off at Itaewon Sta.; take bus # 405 and go down at the Hyatt Hotel. Please take note that the main entrance is in an inside road so, walking from Hyatt Hotel, turn left at the first corner from Kyeongridan.


By car:

1. From Banpo Bridge: Drive towards the direction of City Hall / Namsan 3rd Tunnel. Turn right at the Kyeongridan intersection and drive towards the direction of Hyatt Hotel.
2. From City Hall/Namsan 3rd Tunnel: After passing through the tunnel, turn left at the Kyeongridan intersection, and drive towards the direction of Hyatt Hotel.

President Marcos Jr. Meets Filipino Community in South Korea During APEC Summit

30 October 2025, Busan, Republic of Korea- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., joined by First Lady Louise Araneta - Marcos, met with over 270 Filipinos in South Korea during a community gathering held alongside the APEC Summit in Gyeongju. Filipinos from as far as Goyang, Paju, and Jeollanam-do filled the Wyndham Grand Hotel with cheers and chants, setting an atmosphere of warmth that underscored the strong connection between the administration and Filipinos abroad.

PH AMBASSADOR REINFORCES PH–ROK STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP IN MEETING WITH MOFA DIRECTOR GENERAL

Seoul, Republic of Korea — PH Ambassador-designate to the ROK Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez paid a courtesy call on Director General for Southeast Asian Affairs Lee Donggy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea on 13 November 2025. During the call, both officials discussed ongoing efforts to deepen the Philippines-ROK Strategic Partnership, particularly through strengthened dialogue mechanisms, enhanced maritime cooperation, expanded defense logistics and infrastructure collaboration and closer people-to-people linkages. Ambassador-designate Fernandez and Director General Lee acknowledged the growing value of close coordination among defense, maritime, and law enforcement agencies in addressing emerging security challenges and supporting shared regional priorities.

PH AMBASSADOR CALLS ON JAPANESE AMBASSADOR IN SEOUL

Seoul, 4 November 2025 — Philippine Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Korea Bernadette Therese Fernandez paid a courtesy call on H.E. Koichi Mizushima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Korea. The two Ambassadors exchanged views on recent APEC engagements in the ROK and efforts to strengthen multilateral cooperation among like-minded partners in support of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific. Ambassador Mizushima also recalled his fond memories of his earlier posting in Manila as a young diplomat.
