OWWA , SM SUPER MALLS AND BANCO DE ORO BRING PAMASKONG HANDOG ‘09 TO VACATIONING OFWS AND THEIR FAMILIES


Through the initiative of Secretary Marianito D. Roque, OWWA, SM Super Malls and Banco have agreed to implement an expanded program this December which marks the 15th year of Pamaskong Handog sa OFWs with its theme “Masaya ang Pasko, Bayan at Pamilya Kasama Ko!”

Under the partnership, OWWA duty officers will bring inbound OFW passengers from selected international flights to the Mall of Asia in Pasay, and in SM Clark and SM Cebu where their families will be waiting. In this way, the greeters avoid the hassle of waiting for their loved ones at congested parking areas in NAIA terminals, as well as at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport and Mactan International Airport. At the same time, the relatives enjoy the amenities that SM Super Malls and other sponsors provide in these places. Specifically, the amenities include: 1. Free shuttle service (from airport to SM Super Mall) 2. Free parking space at SM Super Mall 3. Free baggage handling 4. Global Pinoy discount card which is similar to SM Advantage card 5. Free use of the Global Pinoy lounge at the Mall of Asia 6. Entertainment and games 7. Corporate giveaways 8. Other services that will be announced later The daily Manila-bound flights originate from Taipei (China Airlines, Eva Air and Cebu Pacific), Singapore (Singapore Airlines, Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific), Incheon-South Korea (Philippine Airlines), Bahrain (Gulf Air), Doha (Qatar Airways), Dubai (Emirates), and Kuwait (Kuwait Airways). The Clark-bound flights emanate from Kuala Lumpur (Air Asia), Hongkong (Cebu Pacific) and Singapore (Tiger Airways). The Cebu-bound flights originate from Singapore (Silk Air), Hongkong (Cathay Pacific and PAL) and Doha (Qatar Airways). Pamaskong Handog ’09 is from 16 December 2009 – 15 January 2010.

CPR TRAINING PROGRAM FOR OFWS & OVERSEAS FILIPINOS IN SOUTH KOREA

8 February 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) South Korea, successfully conducted a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Overseas Filipinos (OFs) on February 8, 2026, at the 2nd Floor, Sentro Rizal Hall, Philippine Embassy.  A total of sixty-four (64) participants actively took part in the life-saving skills training.

PHILIPPINES, PARAGUAY AFFIRM COMMITMENT TO DEEPEN BILATERAL AND MULTILATERAL COOPERATION

Seoul, Republic of Korea – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez called on Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay to the Philippines H.E. Miguel Angel Ubaldino Romero Alvarez on 28 January 2026 at the Paraguay Embassy in Seoul to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in regional and multilateral fora. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing political dialogue, economic engagement, and people-to-people ties. The discussion highlighted Paraguay’s role as current President of MERCOSUR and growing opportunities for collaboration with ASEAN, including prospects for trade cooperation, sustainability initiatives, and carbon market mechanisms. A shared commitment to a rules-based international order, peaceful settlement of disputes, and respect for international law was likewise underscored.
