PH AMBASSADOR ATTENDS SEMINAR ON STRATEGY FOR A FREE, PEACEFUL, AND PROSPEROUS INDO-PACIFIC REGION


08 January 2023 - Ambassador Theresa Dizon - De Vega attended the Seminar on "Strategy for a Free, Peaceful, and Prosperous Indo-Pacific Region," hosted by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 28 December 2022.

ROK Foreign Minister Park Jin in his keynote remarks presented a strategy that calls for promoting freedom, peace, and prosperity through the establishment of a rules-based order and cooperation on human rights. The strategy likewise highlights ROK's intended foreign policy outlook towards the Indo-Pacific region, which includes a focus on ASEAN through the Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI) regional policy.

The Philippines welcomes ROK's Indo-Pacific Strategy and looks forward to closely working together for a free, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. END

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY PARTICIPATES IN “GALING PILIPINAS” CONFERENCE AT MAD STARS 2026 IN BUSAN

28 August 2026, Busan, ROK - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul and the Philippine Consulate General in Busan participated in the “Galing Pilipinas” segment of the MAD STARS 2026 held at the Signiel Busan Hotel on 28 August 2026.  The segment represented the inaugural Country in Focus portion, showcasing the Philippines, the first-ever country honored as such in MAD STARS’s 19-year history.  The conference presented the Philippines’ creativity, innovation, talent and cultural identity to an international audience.  It was organized by adobo Magazine, a leading trade publication and media platform in the Philippines that covers the advertising, marketing, design, and creative industries across the Asia-Pacific region. In attendance were MAD STARS Executive Committee Chairperson Hwanjin Choi and Chairperson Taeyoul Park.

FILIPINO SCHOLAR’S MASTER’S THESIS JOINS SENTRO RIZAL LIBRARY COLLECTION

Seoul, 3 September 2026 - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul congratulates Ana Mae Roa on completing her Master of International Studies at Korea University’s Graduate School of International Studies. A copy of her thesis, Korean Language Centers as Intermediaries in Mobility from the Philippines to South Korea, completed in August 2026, has been deposited at the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal Library.
