PH Ambassador-Designate to Korea Assumes Post


SEOUL, 20 August 2021 - Philippine Ambassador-designate Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega presented the open copy of her letter of credence as Ambassador to the Republic of Korea on 20 August 2021 to Deputy Minister and Chief of Protocol Ryu Jeonghyun of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Both sides had a brief but meaningful dialogue on Philippine-ROK relations.

During the call, Ambassador-designate De Vega highlighted the strong and historic relations of the Philippines and the ROK and the elevated and increased partnership both countries have seen in the last five to seven years. She noted that as a testament to the strength of PH-ROK relations, both countries were able to accomplish a lot despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a way forward, Ambassador-designate De Vega conveyed the Philippines' commitment to strengthen PH-ROK relations and emphasized that people-to-people engagement between both countries will remain an important priority during her tenure as Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea. END
