PH AMBASSADOR JOINS PRESIDENT FERDINAND R. MARCOS JR. IN WELCOMING ROK PRESIDENT LEE JAE MYUNG TO THE PHILIPPINES


Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez was honored to join President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in welcoming ROK President Lee Jae Myung to the Philippines for his State Visit from 3 to 4 March 2026, which coincided with the celebration of 77 years of Philippines–Republic of Korea relations.

The visit underscored the growing strength of the Philippines–Republic of Korea strategic partnership, as both countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation across key areas, including defense and maritime security, economic partnership, and people-to-people exchanges. It also reflected the shared determination of the Philippines and South Korea to build on their vibrant and dynamic partnership and pursue new opportunities for collaboration amid an evolving regional and global landscape.

Ambassador Fernandez also welcomed the opportunity to engage with senior Korean officials and business stakeholders during the two-day visit, highlighting the importance of the Philippines–Republic of Korea strategic partnership in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable growth across the region.
