PH Ambassador Participates in 2022 Jeju International Peace Conference


Ambassador Dizon-De Vega with fellow panelists at the Jeju International Peace Conference

12 November 2022, Seoul - Philippine Ambassador to Korea Theresa Dizon-De Vega joined other panelists from the diplomatic corps, academe, media, think-tanks, and government institutions at the Jeju International Peace Conference held on 11 November 2022 in WE Hotel, Jeju Island.

The Conference was hosted and organized by the Jeju Chapter of the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council (PUAC); a constitutional body established in accordance with Art 92 of the ROK Constitution. The PUAC assists the ROK government in implementing policies on democratic and peaceful unification on a bipartisan and pan-national level. It serves as an advisory body to the President of ROK regarding policy development and implementation for a democratic and peaceful inter-Korean unification. The ROK President serves as Chairperson of the PUAC.

Ambassador Dizon-De Vega shared the Philippines' position on the de-nuclearization of the Korean Peninsula as well as its support for the peace initiatives of the Republic of Korea. END

30 October 2025, Busan, Republic of Korea- President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., joined by First Lady Louise Araneta - Marcos, met with over 270 Filipinos in South Korea during a community gathering held alongside the APEC Summit in Gyeongju. Seoul, Republic of Korea — PH Ambassador-designate to the ROK Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez paid a courtesy call on Director General for Southeast Asian Affairs Lee Donggy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea on 13 November 2025. During the call, both officials discussed ongoing efforts to deepen the Philippines-ROK Strategic Partnership, particularly through strengthened dialogue mechanisms, enhanced maritime cooperation, expanded defense logistics and infrastructure collaboration and closer people-to-people linkages. Ambassador-designate Fernandez and Director General Lee acknowledged the growing value of close coordination among defense, maritime, and law enforcement agencies in addressing emerging security challenges and supporting shared regional priorities.

Koichi Mizushima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Korea.
