PH AMBASSADOR RECEIVES COURTESY CALL OF NEWLY APPOINTED DEPUTY PRESIDENT OF HANA BANK
Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez welcomes Hana Bank Deputy President and Head of Global Group Mr. Kim Youngjun at the Philippine Embassy in Seoul. Hana Bank officers Global Business Support Department Team Manager Lee Injoon, Global Strategy Team Manager Cho Hyun Joon and Global Business Development-Senior Clerk Yang Habin joined the meeting. Ambassador Fernandez was accompanied by Administrative Officer and Attaché Mary Val R. Adiong.
Seoul, 04 August 2026– Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez received the courtesy call of Mr. Kim Youngjun, newly appointed Deputy President and Head of Global Group of Hana Bank, along with officers from the Global Business Department of Hana Bank. Ambassador Fernandez congratulated Mr. Kim on his recent appointment and on the completion of the establishment of Hana Bank in the Philippines.
Mr. Kim shared that Hana Bank has recently established banking operations in the Philippines with offices in Manila and Subic, Zambales. As a highly reliable bank, Hana Bank seeks to have closer cooperation with the Philippines as one of the Republic of Korea’s closest neighbor and ally. The Philippines’ help during the Korean war and support in the formation of a peaceful and democratic Korea is important for the Korean people.
The Embassy welcomes the presence of Hana Bank in Subic and hopes that it will facilitate financial transactions necessary in the growing shipyard presence of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Philippines (HHIP) which recently launched the very first vessel that was fully built in the facility.
Hana Bank is one of the ROK’s largest banks. It is officially known as KEB Hana Bank, having merged with the Korea Exchange Bank between 2015 to 2019 and then with Seoul Bank in 2002. END
