PH AMBASSADOR SWEARS IN LEADERS OF FILIPINO PHOTOGRAPHERS’ GROUP


Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez administered the oath-taking of and congratulated the new leaders of the Filipino Photographers in Korea (FILIPOS) at the Oath-taking Ceremony held at the Embassy’s Multipurpose Hall on Sunday, 22 June 2014.

SEOUL, 22 June 2014 – Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez inducted the leaders of the Filipino Photographers in Korea (FILIPOS) in an oath-taking ceremony held at the Embassy’s Multipurpose Hall on Sunday, 22 June 2014.

“FILIPOS has the unique opportunity to serve not only as a creative outlet for its members but also as a mirror of expression of the life of the Filipino community” Ambassador Raul S. Hernandez said in his message after the induction of officers and committee heads. “The best use of your talents lies in putting it in service of your fellow Filipinos, to show their aches and joys, triumphs and travails, and to help in their personal and collective development,” he stressed. “You will find unstinting support from the Embassy in your fulfillment of this mission.” New FILIPOS President Janilo Robante expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Hernandez and called on all the officers and members to be true to the mission of the organization by paddling its canoe in one direction and by using their craft to empower Filipinos in Korea. . The other newly inducted FILIPOS officers for 2014-2015 are: Eva Madriaga as Vice President, Ma. Luz Robregado as Secretary, Earl John Ortanez as Treasurer, Brian Pallera as Auditor, and Warren Pajutagana as PRO. Founded on 25 June 2010, FILIPOS aims to encourage, educate and expand the knowledge and skills of its members in photography. Through the years, FILIPOS has continued in its mission of enhancing the skills and techniques of Filipino photographers in South Korea through its photo exhibits, seminar workshops and the annual photobook that promote Filipino values, culture and social awareness. Through its volunteer work of sending at least one member to cover events, FILIPOS has developed strong bonds of friendship and solidarity with other Filipino community organizations as well as with the Korean society.

PH EMBASSY HIGHLIGHTS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP, VALUE OF DIPLOMACY AT KNDA ANNUAL PANEL

25 March 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul participated in the Annual Diplomatic Panel of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) on 25 March 2026 at the DiploTown Building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.  The program gathered forty (40) diplomatic candidates of the KNDA and five (5) working-level diplomats from the Embassies of the Philippines, Guatemala, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, and Brazil.  The KNDA panel convenes representatives of diplomatic missions in Seoul for an exchange on the practice of diplomacy and present the significance of their respective countries’ relations with the Republic of Korea to the newest cohort of Korean diplomats.

30 March 2026, Seoul – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul hosted a roundtable on cyber diplomacy, gender-inclusive artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity on 30 March 2026, bringing together female Heads of Mission in the Republic of Korea, diplomats, and invited stakeholders from government, academe, business, and civil society. The roundtable served as a platform for discussing cybersecurity, digital governance, artificial intelligence, and the continuing need to narrow the gender gap in the digital sphere.
