PH EMBASSY CONDUCTS ITS FIRST CONSULAR OUTREACH FOR 2020 IN BUSAN

BUSAN, 09 February 2020 ? The Philippine Embassy in South Korea successfully conducted its two-day consular outreach mission on 07 and 08 February 2020 in the city of Busan, the second largest city in South Korea after Seoul.

The Philippine Embassy's six-member consular team, led by Consul General Christian L. De Jesus, extended 363 consular services including passport applications, civil registration, NBI clearances, and notarization during the consular outreach. POLO/OWWA and Pag-IBIG representatives accompanied the team to provide assistance and information on their respective services.

The consular outreach mission, the Philippine Embassy's first for the year, was held at the Choryang Catholic Church in cooperation with the Busan Filipino Community Center and its volunteers.

Busan, which is 325 kilometers south of Seoul, is home to more than 2,000 Filipinos. Apart from the community in Busan, Filipinos living in nearby Gimhae, Ulsan, Gwangju and Geoje also took advantage of the visiting mobile service. END

28 August 2026, Busan, ROK - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul and the Philippine Consulate General in Busan participated in the “Galing Pilipinas” segment of the MAD STARS 2026 held at the Signiel Busan Hotel on 28 August 2026.  The segment represented the inaugural Country in Focus portion, showcasing the Philippines, the first-ever country honored as such in MAD STARS’s 19-year history.  The conference presented the Philippines’ creativity, innovation, talent and cultural identity to an international audience.  It was organized by adobo Magazine, a leading trade publication and media platform in the Philippines that covers the advertising, marketing, design, and creative industries across the Asia-Pacific region. In attendance were MAD STARS Executive Committee Chairperson Hwanjin Choi and Chairperson Taeyoul Park.

Seoul, 3 September 2026 - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul congratulates Ana Mae Roa on completing her Master of International Studies at Korea University’s Graduate School of International Studies. A copy of her thesis, Korean Language Centers as Intermediaries in Mobility from the Philippines to South Korea, completed in August 2026, has been deposited at the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal Library.
