PH EMBASSY EXPRESS CONDOLENCES TO FIRE VICTIMS


The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines would like to inform the public that according to Korean authorities, there were no Filipinos among the 18 fatalities and dozens of injured during the fire that occurred on December 21 in Jecheon City, Chungcheongbuk-do.

Nevertheless, the Embassy of the Philippines conveys its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who were killed and injured in the tragic fire. The Embassy enjoins the members of the Filipino Community in South Korea to include the victims in their thoughts and prayers. - END -

26 March 2026, Seoul - Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez participated in the tour of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Korea on 23 March 2026. The invitation also included a courtesy call and luncheon with Justice Kim Hyungdu, the highest official following the Constitutional Court President. The Ambassadors of Canada, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Thailand, Uzbekistan, were also invited to take part in the activity.
