PH EMBASSY IN SEOUL SENDS CONSULAR TEAM TO DAEGU


The consular team from the Philippine Embassy in Seoul pose at the Daegu Catholic Church at the conclusion on 27-28 May 2016 of the two-day day Consular Outreach Mission in Daegu, Korea's third largest metropolitan area with a population of 1,673 Filipinos as of 31 December 2015. The mission, led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Lyza Maria S. Viejo (6th from left) and observed by Philippine Honorary Consul General Dr An Sang-wook (5th from left), was made possible with the assistance of Daegu Filipino Community Council (DFCC), led by its chair Lovelie Gil (3rd from left), and Catholic Migrant Workers' Center (CMWC), represented by social worker Irene Curimao (7th from left).

DAEGU, 28 May 2016 - The Philippine Embassy in South Korea conducted a two-day Consular Outreach Mission on 27-28 May 2016 in Daegu, one of Korea's largest cities and the principal city in North Gyeongsang Province.

The consular mission to Daegu, home to 1,673 Filipinos as of 31 December 2015, was conducted at the Daegu Catholic Church in coordination with the Daegu Filipino Catholic Community (DFCC) and the Catholic Migrant Workers' Center (CMWC). The seven-member team was led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Lyza Maria S. Viejo. Philippine Honorary Consul General An Sang-wook, whose jurisdiction covers the Daegu Metropolitan Area, visited the mission on the second day with staff from Busan, where the Philippine Consulate General is based. Volunteers from the DFCC provided coordination and logistical support. The consular team processed a total of 311 consular services including passport applications, civil registration, notarial services, and travel document applications.
