PH Embassy sends off 539,430 vaccine doses from the ROK government

H.E. Ambassador Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega was pleased to send off 539,430 vaccine doses of Vaxzevria (formerly known as the AstraZeneca vaccine) to the Philippines on 29 November 2021. Ambassador Dizon-De Vega signed the donation agreement on behalf of the Philippines to facilitate the vaccine delivery.

As a testament of solidarity between the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Korea, the vaccines were a timely donation from the ROK government during the Philippines'
"Bayanihan Bakunahan" campaign, a three-day national vaccination drive from 29 November to 1 December which aims to inoculate nine million Filipinos. National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer and vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr and colleagues from the Department of Health welcomed the shipment in Manila on the evening of 30 November 2021.

The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines extends its appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Korea for this generous donation as yet another manifestation of pandemic cooperation. END
