PH EMBASSY WELCOMES PHILIPPINE SPORTS COMMISSION DELEGATION FOR A RESEARCH AND PLANNING TRIP TO ROK


06 October 2022, SEOUL - Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Theresa Dizon-De Vega welcomed a delegation from the Philippine Sports Commission headed by Dr. Lauro Domingo, Chief, Planning, Research and Development Division of the PSC.

The training facility research and planning trip in the ROK is in line with the Philippine government's mandate for the PSC to establish and construct the Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC), which will serve as the national training facility for the members of the Philippine national team.

Ambassador Dizon-De Vega shared during the delegation's courtesy call that the Embassy will continue to support the Philippine government's initiatives for the advancement of Philippine sports and in providing a world class facility where members of the national team could hone their skills. She likewise introduced SEA Games medalist Anna Gabriella Guinto who is a member of the Philippine Embassy in Korea team and discussed the importance of institutional support for working Filipino athletes, especially those in government like Ms. Guinto to help them continue excelling in their respective fields and in the international arena. During their visit, PSC met with officials of the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee (KSOC) and conducted site visits to the Jincheon National Training Center in Chungcheongbuk-do as well as the famous Olympic Park in Seoul, host to the 1988 Summer Olympics, as organized by the Philippine Embassy in Seoul. 26 March 2026, Seoul - Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez participated in the tour of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Korea on 23 March 2026.
