PH EMBASSY WELCOMES PHILIPPINE SPORTS COMMISSION DELEGATION FOR A RESEARCH AND PLANNING TRIP TO ROK


06 October 2022, SEOUL - Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Theresa Dizon-De Vega welcomed a delegation from the Philippine Sports Commission headed by Dr. Lauro Domingo, Chief, Planning, Research and Development Division of the PSC.

The training facility research and planning trip in the ROK is in line with the Philippine government's mandate for the PSC to establish and construct the Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC), which will serve as the national training facility for the members of the Philippine national team.

Ambassador Dizon-De Vega shared during the delegation's courtesy call that the Embassy will continue to support the Philippine government's initiatives for the advancement of Philippine sports and in providing a world class facility where members of the national team could hone their skills. She likewise introduced SEA Games medalist Anna Gabriella Guinto who is a member of the Philippine Embassy in Korea team and discussed the importance of institutional support for working Filipino athletes, especially those in government like Ms. Guinto to help them continue excelling in their respective fields and in the international arena. During their visit, PSC met with officials of the Korean Sports and Olympic Committee (KSOC) and conducted site visits to the Jincheon National Training Center in Chungcheongbuk-do as well as the famous Olympic Park in Seoul, host to the 1988 Summer Olympics, as organized by the Philippine Embassy in Seoul. MWO-OWWA HOLDS ON-THE-SPOT SLOGAN AND POSTER MAKING CONTESTS FOR 31ST MIGRANT WORKERS DAY

Seoul, 7 June 2026 - As part of the pre-celebration activities for the 31st Migrant Workers Day, the Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), successfully conducted the On-the-Spot Slogan Making Contest and On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest on 7 June 2026 at Sentro Rizal, Philippine Embassy in Seoul. Six participants competed in the slogan-making contest, while ten participants showcased their artistic talents in the poster-making contest. The contestants consisted of EPS Workers, Caregivers, and Professors all coming from different parts of Korea like Seoul, Gimpo, Hwaseong, Ansan, and Paju. The program also featured the special Migrant Workers Day messages of Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan, who recognized the invaluable contributions of OFWs and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to their welfare and protection.

EMPOWERING OFWS THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SEOUL HOLDS BUSINESS STRATEGY SEMINAR

As part of the month-long celebration of the 44th Anniversary of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and OWWA-South Korea, in partnership with the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Seoul, successfully conducted a Business Strategy Seminar on 31 May 2026 at the Sentro Rizal Hall, Philippine Embassy in Seoul.A total of 53 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Overseas Filipinos (OFs) attended the seminar, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing their entrepreneurial knowledge and preparing for long-term financial stability and reintegration.

Seoul, 28 May 2026 – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Bernadette Therese C.
