PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR CALLS ON NATIONAL ASSEMBLY REPRESENTATIVE CHO TAE YOUNG


18 April 2022, Seoul - Ambassador Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega called on National Assembly Representative and Chair of the People Power Party's (PPP) Transition Committee on International Affairs Cho Taeyong on 18 April 2022 at the National Assembly.

Ambassador De Vega extended her well-wishes and congratulations to President-elect Yoon Suk-Yeol and the PPP's International Affairs Committee. Both sides had a vibrant and productive discussion on Philippine-ROK relations, ASEAN, the future of ROK foreign, defense and trade policy, and other issues of common interest.

Representative Cho has fond memories of the Philippines and holds the country close to his heart. An accomplished career diplomat, Representative Cho first served as a Philippines desk officer in the early 1980s. He also recalls visiting the Philippines for consultations as a former Vice Foreign Minister. Representative Cho is now a member of the legislative, holding key positions in the Intelligence, Foreign Affairs, and Unification Committees of the Republic of Korea's National Assembly.

At the end of the call, Representative Cho assured Ambassador De Vega that Philippines-Republic of Korea relations will continue to flourish under the Yoon Suk-Yeol administration.
