PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR DIZON-DE VEGA GIVES SPECIAL LECTURE TO STUDENTS OF SUNGSHIN WOMEN'S UNIVERSITY


SEOUL, 22 May 2022 - Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea H.E. Maria Theresa B. Dizon-De Vega gave a special lecture on Philippine-Korea Relations to students of Sungshin Women's University on 18 May 2022.

Ambassador Dizon-De Vega highlighted the robust bilateral relations between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. She also emphasized how active the cooperation is in various areas especially in defense, trade and investment, people-to-people exchanges, and in COVID-19 response and recovery efforts.

The Ambassador further encouraged travels to the Philippines, announcing that flights operations to and from the Republic of Korea and the Philippines have increased starting this month of May giving the audience more opportunities to visit the country.

At the end of her lecture, Ambassador Dizon-De Vega, a former faculty member of the University of the Philippines, had an interaction with university students wanting to know more about the Philippines. The lecture was presented in hybrid format with about 30 offline and over 100 online attendees. The Philippine Embassy looks forward to working closely with Sungshin Women's University to cultivate new areas of cooperation in education, culture, and the arts.

Prior to the lecture, Ambassador Dizon-De Vega met with Sungshin University President Dr. Bo Kyung Yung, Dean of External and International Affairs Dr. Hyung Min Lee, and Assistant Manager for International Affairs and Services Ms. Ming Jung Kim. END

MWO-OWWA HOLDS ON-THE-SPOT SLOGAN AND POSTER MAKING CONTESTS FOR 31ST MIGRANT WORKERS DAY

Seoul, 7 June 2026 - As part of the pre-celebration activities for the 31st Migrant Workers Day, the Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), successfully conducted the On-the-Spot Slogan Making Contest and On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest on 7 June 2026 at Sentro Rizal, Philippine Embassy in Seoul. Six participants competed in the slogan-making contest, while ten participants showcased their artistic talents in the poster-making contest. The contestants consisted of EPS Workers, Caregivers, and Professors all coming from different parts of Korea like Seoul, Gimpo, Hwaseong, Ansan, and Paju. The program also featured the special Migrant Workers Day messages of Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and OWWA Administrator Patricia Yvonne “PY” Caunan, who recognized the invaluable contributions of OFWs and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to their welfare and protection.

EMPOWERING OFWS THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP: PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SEOUL HOLDS BUSINESS STRATEGY SEMINAR

PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR JOINS ASEAN COMMITTEE IN SEOUL IN A STUDY VISIT TO LOTTE R&D CENTER

Seoul, 28 May 2026 – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez joined ASEAN Ambassadors and their representatives in a study visit to the Lotte R&D Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
