PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR DIZON- DE VEGA MEETS WITH KOREAN MINISTER FOR DEFENSE ACQUISITION AND PROCUREMENT ADMINISTRATION

SEOUL, 17 July 2022 - Philippine Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega called on the new ROK Minister for Defense Acquisition Program Administration Eom Dong-Hwan in his Office in Gyeonggi-do on 12 July 2022.

During the call, both sides reaffirmed the Philippines and the Republic of Korea's commitment to active defense cooperation through future PH-ROK initiatives in defense modernization and participation in each country's respective aerospace, naval, and military defense exhibitions. Ambassador De Vega also discussed the Philippines' defense modernization plan with Minister Eom and its phased process, noting that the Republic of Korea is one of the key partner countries of the Philippines as it continues to pursue enhancement of defense capabilities. PHILIPPINE EMBASSY AND MWO-OWWA HOSTS 3RD “KUMUSTAHAN WITH EPS CAREGIVERS” AND MEET & GREET WITH THE AMBASSADOR

28 September 2025, Seoul – On September 28, 2025, the Migrant Workers Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA), led by Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, conducted the 3rd "Kumustahan with EPS Caregivers" and Meet and Greet with the New Ambassador. The Ambassador-designate welcomed the caregivers and expressed her gratitude for their hard work and dedication. Ambassador-designate Fernandez highlighted the success of the pilot project and cited the satisfaction of both employers and caregivers with the services provided by Filipino workers. She also acknowledged the initial challenges faced by caregivers but noted that these issues were promptly addressed through collaboration between the Philippine government and the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL).

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY RECEIVES COURTESY VISIT OF THE UNION OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES (ULAP)

Seoul, Republic of Korea – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul led by Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez received the courtesy call of the delegation from the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) on 24 September 2025. ULAP, as recognized by E.O. 351, s. 2004, is the umbrella organization of all leagues of local government units (LGUs) and leagues and federations of local elective and appointive officials. It serves as the focal representative and mouthpiece of the subnational government in all policy and program platforms to amplify a unified advocacy towards the strengthening of the LGUs into able partners in nation-building.
