PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR MEETS WITH BAN KI-MOON FOUNDATION

The Ban Ki-moon Foundation met with Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Theresa Dizon-De Vega to discuss the Trans-Pacific Sustainability Dialogue that will be held in Manila in November 2025.
Seoul, 25 July 2025 - The Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future, met with Philippine Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega to recount four fruitful years of cooperation with the foundation and other organizations affiliated with President and Chairman Ban Ki Moon. Ambassador Dizon-De Vega assured the foundation of the Philippines’ continued support for its activities, including initiatives that may be hosted in the Philippines. Ambassador Dizon-De Vega, Deputy Head of Mission Edwin Gil Mendoza, BKM’s Executive Director Kim Sook and External Relations Director Kim Bonghyun all underscored the commitment of both the Philippines and the Ban Ki-moon Foundation to achieving sustainable development and generate vital discussions on collaborative partnerships to promote sustainable solutions and outcomes.
Both sides also discussed the upcoming Trans-Pacific Sustainability Dialogue that is scheduled to be held from 9-11 November 2025 in Manila, Philippines. The 2025 Dialogue will focus on advancing Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11), which seeks to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. An estimated 80 to 100 participants are expected to attend the event, including policymakers, industry experts, and practitioners. This year’s Trans-Pacific Sustainability Dialogue will be co-hosted by the Ban Ki-moon Foundation for a Better Future, Stanford University's Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center, and the University of the Philippines. END
