SEOUL, 19 January 2022 - Ambassador Theresa Dizon-De Vega met with Ambassador Woo Kyoung-ha, Secretary General of the Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific Cities (TPO), to discuss strengthened tourism engagement between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea through the TPO Secretariat. In his capacity as the new Secretary General of the TPO, Ambassador Woo is currently undertaking initiatives to promote the organization and to reach out to its members. He said that the Philippines is very important because the City of Manila is one of its founding members and has a seat in the executive board composed of fourteen (14) members.

Ambassador De Vega noted that the TPO plays a significant role in encouraging tourism engagement among cities in the region, adding that keeping the people's interest in travel even during the pandemic will redound to more robust tourism once the situation normalizes. She conveyed the City of Manila's keen interest to revitalize its membership with the organization. END

PH EMBASSY HIGHLIGHTS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP, VALUE OF DIPLOMACY AT KNDA ANNUAL PANEL

25 March 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul participated in the Annual Diplomatic Panel of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) on 25 March 2026 at the DiploTown Building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea.  The program gathered forty (40) diplomatic candidates of the KNDA and five (5) working-level diplomats from the Embassies of the Philippines, Guatemala, the United Kingdom, Türkiye, and Brazil.  The KNDA panel convenes representatives of diplomatic missions in Seoul for an exchange on the practice of diplomacy and present the significance of their respective countries’ relations with the Republic of Korea to the newest cohort of Korean diplomats.
