PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN KOREA CONGRATULATES AMBASSADOR LEE SANGWHA ON CONFERMENT OF THE ORDER OF SIKATUNA


Republic of Korea Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sangwha was conferred the Order of Sikatuna, Rank of Datu (Grand Cross, Gold Distinction) by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on 9 July 2026, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to advancing Philippines–Republic of Korea relations.

9 July 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy in the Republic of Korea warmly congratulates Republic of Korea Ambassador to the Philippines Lee Sangwha on the conferment of the Order of Sikatuna, Rank of Datu (Grand Cross, Gold Distinction) by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in recognition of his outstanding contributions to advancing Philippines–Republic of Korea relations. 

Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, herself a recipient of the Order of Sikatuna for her meritorious contributions to the Philippine Foreign Service, conveyed her congratulations to Ambassador Lee on 9 July 2026 and expressed her sincere appreciation for his close coordination, steadfast friendship, and unwavering support throughout his tenure. 

Ambassador Lee has been a valued partner and champion of the Philippines–Republic of Korea Strategic Partnership, working tirelessly to deepen cooperation across political, economic, security, development, and cultural fields.

His tenure saw meaningful progress in people-to-people exchanges, with growing tourism, education, cultural, local government, and business linkages that continue to bring our nations closer together. 

The Philippine Embassy looks forward to building on the strong foundation that Ambassador Lee helped establish as the Philippines and the Republic of Korea continue to expand our dynamic Strategic Partnership in the years ahead. END
