Seoul, 26 July 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) South Korea, successfully conducted the “Empowering Filipino Migrant Workers in South Korea through Strategic Communication & Leadership” Seminar-Workshop on 26 July 2026 at the 2nd Floor, Sentro Rizal Hall, Philippine Embassy in Seoul. The seminar-workshop was participated in by Filipino community leaders and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) based in the Republic of Korea (ROK).

In her inspirational message, Ambassador Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez underscored the importance of empowering Filipino migrant workers and community leaders through relevant knowledge and skills that will enable them to become effective communicators, responsible leaders, and active partners in strengthening the Filipino community in ROK.

Labor Attaché Rosemarie G. Duquez welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of developing effective communication and leadership skills, particularly among Filipino community leaders and OFWs, in fostering unity, cooperation, and meaningful engagement within the Filipino community.

Mr. Kenn T. Arcenal facilitated the seminar-workshop and discussed the importance of strategic communication and effective leadership. He shared practical insights and strategies to help participants enhance their communication skills, build confidence, strengthen their leadership capabilities, and effectively engage with their respective communities.

The participants actively engaged in the discussions and activities, sharing their experiences and perspectives as Filipino migrant workers and community leaders in South Korea. 

In her closing remarks, Welfare Officer Cornelia D.G. Chanco expressed her appreciation to all the participants for their active involvement and emphasized the commitment of MWO and OWWA to continue implementing programs and initiatives that promote the welfare, empowerment, leadership development, and meaningful participation of overseas Filipinos in South Korea.
