PHILIPPINE EMBASSY, SEOUL LAUNCHES FILIPINO FOOD MONTH


Ambassador Dizon-De Vega meets with Filipino restaurant and food store owners in Korea to launch April as the Filipino Food Month in Korea.

4April 2022, Seoul - Proprietors of Filipino restaurants and food stores across Korea join Ambassador Maria Theresa Dizon-De Vega in launching the Filipino Food Month in Korea this April with the theme "Discovering Filipino Cuisine Across Korea". The owners expressed appreciation to the Embassy for this activity, a first in Korea, and for the chance to promote their cuisine on the official social media accounts of the Embassy.

In response, Ambassador Dizon-De Vega said it is the Embassy's goal to introduce and promote Filipino cuisine to the Korean food scene. She also assured the restaurant community of upcoming webinars designed to help enhance their businesses and to explore more creative approaches to Filipino food. The Filipino and Korean food proprietors will provide short videos and photos of their establishments, together with their menu and food specialities, to be shared on the Embassy's social media accounts.

Filipino Food Month in Korea is being celebrated by the Philippine Embassy in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture Office in Seoul. END

8 July 2026, Seoul — The Philippine Embassy in Seoul convened a high-level policy roundtable with the Plaza Project on 8 July 2026 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award. The event featured Philippine Undersecretary for Policy Leo M. Herrera-Lim and members of the Plaza Project, a network of approximately 250 senior Korean policy advisers, former government officials, legal practitioners, industry experts, and opinion leaders across seven centers who continue to inform policy discussions within the Republic of Korea.
