PHILIPPINE EMBASSY WELCOMES ARRIVAL OF NEW LABOR ATTACHÉ IN SOUTH KOREA


Labor Attaché Rose Duquez called on Chargé d’Affaires ai Edwin Mendoza and engaged with key officials of the Embassy on 24 August 2025.

26 August 2025, Seoul – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul welcomed its new Labor Attaché, Atty. Rosemarie G. Duquez, on 24 August 2025. As part of her introductory visit, Atty. Duquez called on Chargé d’Affaires ai Edwin Mendoza and engaged with key officials of the Embassy. 

Prior to her assignment in Seoul, Labor Attaché Duquez served as Director of the Pre-Employment and Government Placement Bureau of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), which oversees key programs including the Employment Permit System (EPS) and caregiving programs in Korea. She succeeded Labor Attaché Ma. Celeste M. Valderrama who ended her tour of duty in Korea in 2024. 

With her extensive background in overseas employment and labor policy, Atty. Duquez brings a wealth of experience to her new role. The Philippine Embassy and the Migrant Workers Office–OWWA Korea reaffirm their steadfast commitment to upholding the rights and promoting the welfare of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), in alignment with the Philippine Government’s One-Country-Team approach and in support of the Filipino migrant worker community across the Republic of Korea.
