Philippines is Best Practice Country -- survey
MANILA, Philippines -- The Philippines was adjudged Best Practice Country among eight other countries surveyed that are sending workers through Korea’s Employment Permit System (EPS).
The survey showed that the Philippines had the shortest period for entry of foreign work force and has the best practice in six out of the eight processes of the EPS implemented by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). These cover contract signing, preliminary training notification, visa issuance, medical examination, and entry preparation for the introduction of foreign workers to Korea. POEA Administrator Rosalinda Baldoz announced to the media that the survey results were presented during the recent fellowship training in Korea on labor migration management under the ILO/Korea Partnership Program. Officials of eight other countries -- Cambodia, Indonesia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Vietnam -- attended the training.
