PHILIPPINES PARTICIPATES IN THE FOLLOW-UP ROUNDTABLE MEETING ON RAW MATERIALS SUPPLY CHAIN PARTNERSHIP

06 March 2022, Seoul - Minister and Consul General Romulo Victor Israel Jr. represented the Philippines in the follow-up roundtable meeting convened by the ROK Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) supply chain partnership on 24 February 2022 at the Lotte Hotel Seoul.

The Philippines is part of the ten resource-rich nations that participate in the regular roundtable discussion on supply chain cooperation convened by MOTIE. During the meeting, the Philippines reiterated that as one of the world's major suppliers of raw nickel, cobalt, and copper needed for the global value chain, it looks forward to collaborating with ROK in the supply assurance and processing of these minerals through programs benefiting both countries. The Philippines invites Korean companies to invest in the sustainable processing of minerals and ores, as the Philippine government aims to revitalize the mining industry. 28 September 2025, Seoul – On September 28, 2025, the Migrant Workers Office - Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (MWO-OWWA), led by Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez, conducted the 3rd "Kumustahan with EPS Caregivers" and Meet and Greet with the New Ambassador. The Ambassador-designate welcomed the caregivers and expressed her gratitude for their hard work and dedication. Ambassador-designate Fernandez highlighted the success of the pilot project and cited the satisfaction of both employers and caregivers with the services provided by Filipino workers. She also acknowledged the initial challenges faced by caregivers but noted that these issues were promptly addressed through collaboration between the Philippine government and the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor (MOEL).

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY RECEIVES COURTESY VISIT OF THE UNION OF LOCAL AUTHORITIES OF THE PHILIPPINES (ULAP)

Seoul, Republic of Korea – The Philippine Embassy in Seoul led by Ambassador-designate Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez received the courtesy call of the delegation from the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) on 24 September 2025. ULAP, as recognized by E.O. 351, s. 2004, is the umbrella organization of all leagues of local government units (LGUs) and leagues and federations of local elective and appointive officials. It serves as the focal representative and mouthpiece of the subnational government in all policy and program platforms to amplify a unified advocacy towards the strengthening of the LGUs into able partners in nation-building.
