PHL AMBASSADOR JOINS CHORUS AT ORCHESTRAL CONCERT IN SEOUL


Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandez (upper photo) joins the Diplomats’ Choir in performing selected Korean and Western songs together with the Sejong CEO Choir, Ami 24 Choir, KASA Chorus and La Luce Choir at the 4th Regular Concert of Sejong Dream Tree Orchestra at the Main Auditorium of the Sejong Center for Performing Arts on Gwanghwamun Plaza on Wednesday,13 August 2014.

SEOUL, 13 August 2014 –Philippine Ambassador to South Korea Raul S. Hernandezjoined diplomats and other VIPs in singing five songs at the 4thregular concert of an orchestra for orphans and disadvantaged youth,attended by an audience of 3,000 at the largest arts and cultural complex in Seoul.

The Diplomats’ Choir joined the Sejong CEO Choir, Ami 24 Choir, KASA Chorus and La Luce Choir on Wednesday, 13 August 2014 in performing “I Have a Dream”, “I Will Follow Him”, and “Va Pensiero” as well as Korean songs “Keum Gang San” and “Arirang”, at the Main Auditorium of the Sejong Center for Performing Arts on Gwanghwamun Plaza.

The concert was headlined the Sejong Dream Tree Orchestra, which held a 10-day music camp for100 Korean children from orphanages in Seoul and other low-income families,withrehearsals held at Seoul City Music University in Gangchon, Gyeonggi Province, and at the Sejong Center. It was assisted by the embassies of Uruguay, Panama, Ecuador and Mexico.

The two-hour performance, which was boosted by six young LatinAmerican musicians, including three members of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas, featured a repertoire of LatinAmerican chamber music, and pieces by well-known composers Franz Schubert, Georges Bizet and Giuseppe Verdi.

The Sejong Center began the Dream Tree Harmony Orchestra in September 2010 to contribute to the development of music education of young people from modest backgrounds.

PH AMBASSADOR CALLS ON JAPANESE AMBASSADOR IN SEOUL

Seoul, 4 November 2025 — Philippine Ambassador-designate to the Republic of Korea Bernadette Therese Fernandez paid a courtesy call on H.E. Koichi Mizushima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Korea. The two Ambassadors exchanged views on recent APEC engagements in the ROK and efforts to strengthen multilateral cooperation among like-minded partners in support of a Free and Open Indo-Pacific.
