PHL EMBASSY IN SEOUL CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH AND FILCOM FORUM IN JEJU

JEJU CITY, 23 September 2017 ? The Philippine Embassy in South Korea conducted a two-day consular outreach mission in Jeju City, the capital of Jeju province and the largest city on the island of Jeju, on 22 and 23 September 2017.

The 4-member mobile consular team, led by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Ella Karina Mitra, was assisted by the officers and staff of the Nagkakaisang Pilipino sa Jeju (NAPIL), headed by its president, Ms. Maritess Gaddi. The consular outreach to Jeju was also done with the cooperation of the Jeju Immigrant Office where the outreach mission was held.

The team was able to serve over 150 Filipinos for various consular services such as new passport application, passport renewal, report of birth, NBI clearance application, and citizenship reacquisition.

In addition to the consular outreach program, the Embassy, with the assistance of NAPIL, also organized a FilCom Forum. Vice Consul Mitra presented updates on consular matters and later fielded various questions and concerns of the audience. Said Forum was attended by over 30 members of the Jeju Filipino Community.

Jeju province is one of the nine provinces of South Korea. Situated on and co-terminous with the nation's largest island of Jeju, the province is home to 604 Filipinos (as of 31 March 2017).

8 February 2026, Seoul - The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) South Korea, successfully conducted a Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and Overseas Filipinos (OFs) on February 8, 2026, at the 2nd Floor, Sentro Rizal Hall, Philippine Embassy.  A total of sixty-four (64) participants actively took part in the life-saving skills training.

PHILIPPINES, PARAGUAY AFFIRM COMMITMENT TO DEEPEN BILATERAL AND MULTILATERAL COOPERATION

Seoul, Republic of Korea – Philippine Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, H.E. Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez called on Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of Paraguay to the Philippines H.E. Miguel Angel Ubaldino Romero Alvarez on 28 January 2026 at the Paraguay Embassy in Seoul to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in regional and multilateral fora. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing political dialogue, economic engagement, and people-to-people ties.
