SCENTING SUCCESS: PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN SEOUL EMPOWERS OFWS WITH PERFUME & DIFFUSER TRAINING FOR WOMEN’S MONTH

8 March 2026, Seoul. The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, through the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) South Korea, successfully conducted a Perfume and Diffuser Making Training on 8 March 2026, as part of its continuing efforts to empower Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and other Filipinos in the Republic of Korea.

A total of fifty-one (51) OFWs and OFs participated in the training, which forms part of the livelihood skills training program of the agency aimed at supporting the reintegration of OFWs. The activity provided participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in creating perfumes and diffusers, equipping them with additional skills that may serve as a potential source of income.

Administrative Staff Jaylord M. Caronan delivered the welcome remarks on behalf of Welfare Officer Cornelia DG. Chanco, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and skills development among OFWs as they prepare for future opportunities.

The training was held in celebration of National Women’s Month, highlighting the important role of women in nation-building and reaffirming the government’s commitment to promoting their welfare and economic empowerment.

Labor Attaché Atty. Rosemarie G. Duquez graced the event and delivered an inspirational message, encouraging participants to maximize the opportunity to learn new skills and to remain resilient and proactive in improving their livelihood prospects.

The Philippine Embassy in Seoul, together with MWO and OWWA South Korea, remains steadfast in its commitment to provide responsive programs and services that enhance the welfare and development of OFWs in South Korea. END
